. the city of phoenix policy is to back off and follow. what will happen when they get further down the road is another matter. there are unconfirmed reports whether the driver fired at police but that is what ksaz is reporting, our station from the sky fox pilot. trace mentioned the signals. the signals are digital. they have to be really strong. you do not only get a partial signal anymore the way we used to. with digital it is locked in, which it now is, or you don't get it at all. it freezes. then it goes to black. it is possible we could lose this signal. it is my understanding our station in phoenix has multiple transmission towers so the chopper would be able to point toward another "receive" location so it is possible we can follow this with police. you have to hope, trace, this guy does not cause another driver who is not aware of what is going on to make a move that gets people hurt. >>trace: that is the concern when someone is armed and you go back to the transmission issue. there are a number of microwave antennas on different mountains around phoenix area. they can bounce from o

for weapons. and then there's the ancient city of alleppo, known for its culture and urban development and home to the largest covered market in the world dating back to the 12th century. last week that market was burned during fierce fighting. precious ancient treasures that belong to the world, not just to syria. once preserved and admired. now some gone forever. destroyed by war. >> when you look at those pictures, it's just really heart-breaking to see that because you were talking about hundreds and hundreds, if not thousands of years in an ancient treasure that, as you say, belong to everyone. >> it's really the world's cultural heritage that's going up in flames that's being destroyed and trampled. of course, nothing is more tragic than the loss of human life. it's irrepairable. you don't come back from it. you can rebuild some of what is destroyed, but in the case of aleppo, a city i know very well, it's almost like seeing a person you know die because it's the soul of a city, this old market, the crusader castle. it's the best preserved crusader castle in the world. mroo show

and -- >> who they are. >> who they are and how early they voted. for presidents down to the city council, every aspect of the campaign matters. air ars are the ones -- air wars are the ones that get coverage because of tv, but the ground wars are equally important. the other thing about the structure of the electorate, at least in our "wall street journal" poll, nbc poll, that our firms collaborated on pre- debate, the president was winning independent voters by 13 points. in 2008, he defeated john mccain by 8. i will be looking at the independent numbers. the other thing, too, very quickly, and in terms of minorities and youth vote, the other thing about barack obama's election in 2008 was that he wants something on the order of 43% of the -- won something on the order of 40% of the white vote. look, the country is changing. in 2008, 3/for the electorate was white, down from the mid-to- high-80s years ago. in a very close election, i don't think anyone thought it would be a seven-point race. the metrics are there for him to win. >> to me the most -- sorry to interrupt -- to me the most stunnin

of the busiest stretches of the road in this country. this is 101 south through studio city where he is moving now. why we need to know he could have gone northbound and had a wide open track but chose this route for whatever reason. we've seen the guy sticking his hands out the window and they're trying to see if anybody in is in the back seat as well. this stretch of freeway is so thick right now, the main concern he not reach speeds of 80 miles an hour. even in this thick, traffic, gregg, a few moments ago he was going upwards of 80, if you can imagine that, just barely missing people. look to the left center of the screen, see the squad cars are not even lagging behind. they're trying to catch up to this guy in the moments where he is so close to traffic, before he can speed up again. i'll keep watching it and let you know what happens. gregg: and i apologize. i thought he was heading north. in fact he is heading south on the 101. and this originated as i understand it in venture roo -- ventura. wee he will keep an eye what is happening and follow this slow-speed chase during rush hour in
